The Social Concerns program was established to provide feeding programs (basic meals provided on a regular basis) and school fees to children living in extreme poverty. Many of these children have no access to food on a regular basis.
In Zimbabwe, public school is not free. Children living in poverty are forced to drop out of school, further perpetuating the downward spiral.
With basic nutritional needs met and funds for education, these children can grow to become educated, productive citizens.
Feeding programs are provided on a weekly basis to children in five communities designated by the Central Baptist Church. Sadza (a cooked grain) and beans are the traditional meal. Currently, approximately 250 children are being served through this program.
School fees are donated on a quarterly basis, allowing 75 children to receive an education.
