Mark & Kathy Paukune Directors of ANVZ

Mark & Kathy Paukune

Kathy and Mark Paukune founded Acta Non Verba – Zimbabwe after a brief trip to Harare, Zimbabwe in the summer of 2009.  Struck by the determined spirit of the people, in contrast with the extreme poverty, the Paukune’s prayed for God’s direction on their commitment to these often forgotten people.  The answer was the creation of ANVZ in 2010.  The goal of this non-profit organization is to support the Zimbabweans as they determine solutions that will change the course of their lives and future generations.

Betty Kilpatrick

Betty Kilpatrick

Betty Kilpatrick has been privileged to be a part of ANVZ before it even was ANVZ — when it was only a prayer. This has given her a passion to continue to seek God’s direction for ANVZ as she serves on its Board. The people of Africa have been an inspiration to her as she has heard and read about their hunger that is both physical and spiritual. Betty’s involvement in Bible Study Fellowship has allowed her to see amazing growth in African BSF classes, and their members’ willingness to travel great distances in undesirable circumstances, testifying to their hunger for God’s Word.  Betty currently serves as an Area Advisor for Bible Study Fellowship in Fort Worth and surrounding areas. She also serves on the local board of Young Life. Betty has been married to Tim for 25 years and they have been blessed with four children ages 16 – 21.

Christina Phillips | ANVZ

Christina Phillips

Christina Phillips has been involved with Bible Study Fellowship since 2003, is a member of Christ Chapel Bible Church, and has served on the Board of K-Life Ministries. During a recent BSF study in Isaiah God sent confirmation of her desire to serve those in need with Isaiah 58:10 “and IF you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, THEN your light will rise in darkness.”

Witnessing this poverty first hand during a trip to Africa in 2010 lead to a passion for helping those left behind to unimaginable situations. Her desire to take part in delivering the message of Christ and hope lead her to join the ANVZ Board in May 2011. “It is an unbelievable privilege and a humbling honor to be part of God’s plan for these precious people!” She lives with her husband Bryce and two children in Fort Worth, Texas.

Craig Crockett

Craig Crockett

Craig Crockett joined the Board of Directors in October 2010.  Craig is an attorney in Fort Worth and is a member and former deacon at Christ Chapel Bible Church. He also serves on the Board of K-Life Fort Worth.

About joining ANVZ, Craig says; “I am honored to serve, and excited about the opportunity to be used in God’s plan for Zimbabweans through ANVZ.”

“I believe that those who literally have nothing can be transformed by God’s promise of something better through the grace of Jesus Christ and, that ANVZ has a God ordained role in such a transformation. I can’t wait to see how He works through ANVZ.”

Tom Karsten

Tom Karsten

Tom Karsten joined the Board of Directors in September 2011. Tom is an accountant and investment advisor in Fort Worth. He is a former member of the Administrative Board at First United Methodist Church and currently attends Christ Chapel Bible Church with his wife Kim and three children. He has also served on the Board of the Texas Workforce Commission and the State of Texas Group Benefit’s Risk Pool.

“I am thrilled and humbled about the prospect of improving life in Zimbabwe through ANVZ. My prayers have been for God to show me the path I should follow as I strive to be His hands and feet in this world. I have faith, beyond question, that ANVZ is part of His plan.”
